Cross River Rail is a new 10.2 km rail line between Dutton Park and Bowen Hills, which includes a 5.9 km twin tunnel under the Brisbane River and Brisbane CBD, passing through four new high-capacity underground stations at Boggo Road, Woolloongabba, Albert Street and Roma Street.

Stacey Agnew, as the project fire and ventilation engineers for the tunnels and stations, designed the tunnel ventilation for thermal control, smoke control and fire life safety within the tunnels, and the station fire life safety and smoke management systems.  Comprehensive material selection and approval procedures were developed, to ensure that the procurement and installation is realised without compromising occupant safety.

Stacey Agnew's dedication to reaching a practical design without compromising safety has resulted in an effective smoke management system, without it being a key visual feature.
