14th Australian Tunnelling Conference
|The Australasian Tunnelling Conference is a triennial industry event in which papers are presented describing a wide range of current tunnelling projects ; proposed, in-design and under construction in the region. The Auckland Conference concentrated on the engineering disciplines associated with; ground support, hydro-power, excavation, fire and safety, geotechnical, environmental challenges and risks, road and rail transport.
Keynote addresses were delivered by Professor Giovanni Bala; “Open issues in tunnel boring machine excavation”, Professor Arnold Dix; “Fire protection systems – protection of people, concrete and profits” and Alan Morris “Express link – challenges of tunnelling through Hong Kong and into mainland China”.
Three collaborative papers were also presented at the conference by Stacey Agnew;
